Snapshot versus live
Why the ledger shows a date, and what changes when it moves.
The dataset is a snapshot with a date, not a live feed. Every page states the snapshot it was built from, so a reader can tell whether a number changed because the world changed or because the file did.
Snapshots also make correction possible. A record can be revised, and the revision is visible, which is not true of a page that quietly re-renders itself.

| Rule | Why |
|---|---|
| Snapshot date on every page | A number without a date is not a fact |
| Revisions stored, not overwritten | A changed claim is a new claim |
| Verdicts dated | A verdict is also a claim about evidence |
Figures computed from docs/predictions/ledger.json at build time. Every claim quoted on this page carries its own sources in the ledger.
