Capital and markets: the thesis underneath
Every other forecast in the collection is a bet financed by this one.
Capital claims are about money that has been committed rather than money that might be. They are easy to state, hard to settle, and frequently revised by events that never appear in the original sentence.
Read them as a record of what the industry believed would be built, and when. The interesting question is not whether a number was right but whether the money behaved as if the number were true.
