How tags are used, and how they are not

Tags help retrieval. They are not evidence.

Snapshot 2026-10-25 240 claims 138 citations 209 people

A tag is an editorial act, and like every editorial act in this project it is visible rather than hidden. Two records with the same tag are not thereby related; they are merely findable together.

The rule is simple: if a tag carries an argument, the argument belongs in prose, not in metadata.
